Markazi Masjid

The historical Markazi Masjid is located in the centre of the town. Its initial construction was under taken about hundred years ago. The construction in present shape was carried out in 1940s under the supervision of Late Maulana Qazi Noor Muhammad. The basic design of the Masjid is in accordance with Shahi Masjid, Dehli. Attractive Minarets and eye-catching tombs of the Masjid remind the glorious past. About two thousand five hundred people can offer prayer in the Masjid at a time. Hifz-e-Quran department of the Jamia is organized in Markazi Masjid. The annual conference of Jamia Muhammadia is also held in vast courtyard of the Masjid. Renovation work of the Masjid was again started in year 2000 and is still in progress.
